The Cellar Gym’s Pam “Bam” Sorenson raised her record to (7-2) last night after defeating Jan Finney (11-13) in Finney’s hometown of Ohio. Sorenson was the winner by three round split decision despite being deducted one point in the first round.
“Threw an illegal knee in the first round and got docked a point, but still came out with a decision win over a very tough opponent!” said Sorenson aferwards. “I can’t thank all my coaches, training partners, sponsors and family/friends who make this all happen enough! Huge thanks to my coach Chris Cichon for flying out here and putting up with me right before the holiday.”
Sorenson is currently scheduled to face Spartan’s Akeela Al-Hameed on January 20th at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. That meeting will be a Muay Thai match presented by Driller Promotions. Sorenson and Al-Hameed met last month in Fight to Wins Jiu Jitsu event in Lakeville, MN.
