Minnesota MMA News: 29-year-old Bryan Mortensen (Pro, 1-0) of Mankato, MN and Anthony Yost (Pro,
1-2) of Albert Lea, MN each have fights tonight at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. Destiny MMA will be promoting the show.
Mortensen was originally set to face former Destiny MMA amateur champion Makana Fronda (1-1) but Fronda dropped out two weeks ago. Mortensen will now face Ben Santiago (1-5) of Waianae, Hawaii.
“I just plan on going out there and doing my thing” said Mortensen. I’m not getting in the cage with him, he’s getting in there with me. As long as I fight like I know I can, I’ll get a “W”. Winning three titles in three weight classes as an amateur was great but now I’m ready to start chasing a championship as a pro.”
Anthony Yost, 24, is scheduled to be fighting Ian Dela Cuesta (11-9) of Waipahu, Hawaii in a 135-pound
bout. Minnesota fans last saw Yost in the cage at LFA 19 in 2017. Yost says that he is excited to test his skills against the experienced Hawaiian.
“I expect a fun and tough fight” said Yost. “My opponent has fought tough UFC vets and for titles so far in his pro career. I feel honored to be able to showcase my skills against a vet in his home in Hawaii!”
